How can one compare John Tchicai's music with Jackson Pollock's paintings?

Finally re-released on CD: nothing less than collector's item "AFRODISIACA", the famous 1969 album of John
Tchicai, Hugh Steinmetz and 25 other musicians among whom are Willem
Breuker and Pierre Dorge. This CD is available
at most online cd sale-sites, even at target.com and on iTunes.
Five new CDs with John Tchicai were released in 2009, and 2010 also has a surprise coming up (out) soon.
"The Spiritual Man" with Italy's Open
Orchestra featuring John Tchicai. This was recorded live at the
CeglieJazz Open Festival (BR) in the summer of 2008. The orchestra
consists of composers Stefano Maltese, Gianni Lenoci, Pasquale Innarella
and other musicians. It also features compositions by Tchicai. TSJEI008.
"Look to the Neutrino" with the Lunar
Quartet, featuring Tchicai on tenor, flute and voice, Greg Burk on
piano and flute, Marc Abrams on bass and voice and Enzo Carpentieri on
drums and percussion. Recorded in the same summer of 2008, released as BA 243.
"One Long Minute" with John Tchicai's
Five Points: Tchicai on tenor and vocals, Alex Weiss on tenor & alto
and percussion, Garrison Fewell on guitar, percussion and bow, Dmitry
Ishenko on bass and Ches Smith on drums. Recorded in feb. 2008 in
Brooklyn.
A duo on the CD "Treader Duos" is played by
John Tchicai and Tony Marsh, drums. The other duos are by John
Butcher & Mark Sanders and by Alex Ward & Roger Turner. They were all
recorded at the St. Giles-in-the-Fields Church in London, feb. 2008. More

The fifth new CD, a tribute to Thelonious Monk, was
released this October:
"In Monk's Mood".
Accompanied by George Colligan on piano & B3 Hammond organ, Steve LaSpina
on bass and Billy Drummond on drums, this cd features his striking sound
on alto sax interpreting the works by Monk. Steeplechase 31675.

July 6. At 16.30, John will play at the CD-release concert of Peter Danstrup's Reptiles in the Sky-CD at
Frue Plads.
July 6. At 19.00 hrs, John will be at the Jazzcup, Gothersgade. He will
be in concert with the Sophisticated Ladies:
Marie-Louise Schmidt , piano; Helle Marstrand , bass and
Benita Haastrup , drums & percussion.
They will also play on July 8at 18.00 hrs. at the Copenhagen Zoo
July 7, John Tchicai will play with the
Wardrobe of Death which are Jeppe Zeeberg, piano; Nicolai Caes
Claesson, double bass and Rune Lohse, drums. at Huset at 21.00
hrs.
July 8. At 10.00 am Tchicai will conduct a
Thelonious Monk Workshop with the Lars Holm Group.
At 18.00 that same day, second concert with the Sophisticated
Ladies, see July 6 for line-up. Zoological Garden.
